Click to enlarge The Notre Dame de Paris, (Our lady of Paris) is the famous cathedral in which the story of the musical by the same name, and the Disney cartoon 'The hunchback of Notre Dame' stem from. This is the view from the fashionable shops overlooking the Seine River.

Click to enlarge Inside the Notre Dame de Paris, the cathedral really shows it's grandeur. Stained glass windows, a very large organ, towering ceilings and beautiful paintings and sculptures. Whether you're religious or aethiest, you can't miss this place, the architecture alone is brilliant.

Click to enlarge The Seine River runs through the city of Paris, past the Eiffel and the Notre Dame and there are large boats such as this one which go up and down it for tourists to do some sightseeing. We didn't go on it, but I hear it's quite a nice ride.

Click to enlarge The great thing about the Seine is the pedestrian/car friendly bridges that cross it. Watching the sunset over the river is very romantic.

Click to enlarge Arc de Triomphe, Paris. This monument stands in the middle of a huge roundabout at the end of the Champs-De-Elysees. You can walk around it and climb the stairs to the top, but we haven't done that yet (Feb 01).

K
ing Alexandre III Bridge. Paris is a spectacular city whether you see it by day or night. We spent about 4 weekends there in 2000. We saw the Eiffel Tower (climbed it in October), the Arch de Triomphe, the Louvre and the Notre Dame.

Click to enlarge The Eiffel tower is surrounded by tourists and tourists selling souveniers to other tourists. It is packed with people from all over the world and all walks of life. We finally got to go up it in October, when the tourist season was low. The view is so fantastic, it's almost like being on a plane you can see all over Paris and beyond.

Click to enlarge Here we are at the Eiffel Tower, the first time we saw it together. We are with Yves' cousin, Manu, his girlfriend Florence, Yves and myself. The eiffel is so big it's almost impossible to photograph, but we are standing about 50 metres from it.

Click to enlarge Arc de Triomphe, up close and personal on the Champs De Elysees. The sculptures on this massive arc are impressivly detailed!
