2002 - 2000-2001
Hey, we saw that somewhere already... Here, seen from the Palais Chaillot from the other side of the Seine, on New Year's Eve 2002.

Le Quatier Latin by day. Click on the thumbnail to see a larger picture. See the kebab shop with white tables and chairs out the front? You have to go there for the best kebab ever.

A moonlit New Year's Eve in Paris - looks beautiful, sounds romantic, but in reality, I would strongly advise against going to the centre of Paris on this night. It's overly crowded, dangerous and scary. No official fireworks were arranged, and instead drunk people around the Trocadero were throwing their own fireworks around the place, including some that skip along the ground before exploding. We were too scared to drink. Along the Seine, by day the streets of Paris turn into a market mostly for books, art and postcards.
This holiday we were on a mission to take good night-time shots. This is the Champs Elysées, seen from the Arc de Triomphe. Now that we've bought a tripod, we'll have to do that all over again so we can take a straighter photo. By day or night, the Louvre is a must-see. By day you're likely to be stuck with too many tourists, but at night it is lit up and you can often find musicians playing beautiful classical music near it.
