ur most recent highland cow sighting was in Glen Coe. Here they roam freely about large properties, nestled in among Munro mountains.

In the Highlands, these cows are called a "Heilan Coo". Looks like this one prefers the grass on the other side of the fence!!

e finally found a highland cow for the first time ever, in January 2001!! These ones were outside a Whisky Distillery in Fort William. We stopped on the side of the road to photograph them.

Highland cows are such placid animals. They came right up to us and let us stroke their horns and posed and played for the camera! Wow! They are so beautiful I could have stayed there all day and watched them, but for the frost and biting wind.
