e moved flats in October 2001, to Fountainbridge, Edinburgh which is closer to the centre of town (we can walk to Princes Street in 10 minutes, instead of 20 minutes previously!)

On the first and third Saturday of every month, we go grocery shopping at the Edinburgh Farmer's Market which has really nice locally farmed produce (and strangely, they even have locally grown Ostrich meat!! Yummy!)

We are 2 minutes walk from the Megaplex, on Dundee Street (a few metres up from Dundee Terrace on this map) which has UGC cinemas (13 screens), two restaurants, plus McDonald's and Pizza Hut, a pub with seats outside for summer, a bowling alley, a gym, 3 nightclubs and a coffee shop. So we spend a lot of time there, as you can imagine!

About a hundred metres away from our flat (towards the Megaplex) are two EXCELLENT restaurants, one Balti Indian Cuisine called "Guru" and one Italian Cuisine called "Piatto Verde" - they are both very small (seat max of 30 people all squished in) with really friendly staff and great food.

One friday, we drove back from work to find our street blocked by the fire brigade, and smoke everywhere. The school in front of our flat had burnt down! The place is now entirely empty as the building was teared down and the rubble carried out.
